Selfies in Github Pull Requests

We recently discovered this blog post on how Selfies in Pull Requests would improve morale, fun, and make code reviews more enjoyable. Especially this sentence struck a chord: “Sometimes it becomes easy to forget that the person producing the code is a human being with needs and emotions”

The first reaction, after reading this blog post was (quoting for #normation)
16:03:14 <+Kegeruneku> clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick
16:03:17 <+Kegeruneku> Donne le plugin !
16:03:23  * Kegeruneku installe frénétiquement
16:03:30 <+Kegeruneku> JE LAIKE.

which can translate to:
16:03:14 <+Kegeruneku> clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick
16:03:17 <+Kegeruneku> Gimme the plugin !
16:03:23  * Kegeruneku installs frantically
16:03:30 <+Kegeruneku> I LIKE.

And this was true for all of the team, resulting in various attempts to install the plugin (links available here) and add selfies and animated gifs in pull requests (note that we did not succeed in using the plugin with Firefox :/)

The first selfies were on a private Github repository, so we can’t show public links, but my first attempt to praise resulted in this animated GIF (after 4 failed attempts with Firefox) :

I do not think we’ll use it in every PR, but I’m pretty sure we’ll have some exceptional (read super imaginative) content in some of them (this one is already impressive, to switch branches)

Thank you very much Travis !
